Dear Parents,
The Colts Family Fun Day is almost here!!
If you would like your colt to play - please liaise with your age group manager.
We are looking forward to you, your Colts and your families joining us on 14th July from 11.15am for our inaugural Colts Family Fun Day. We are really looking forward to the day and hopefully everyone will join in and have a great time. The first match will start at 1145 so If your child/children cannot make the start, please let your coach/manager know.
We got a great day planned with MATCHES, ACTIVIES and a FREE BBQ for all Colts families.
Matches
In the spirit of the day, we will be creating mixed teams of Colts from U12-U16s. We want the Colts to have some fun and take the opportunity to play with those in other team. This will be carefully managed from a safety point of view Colts will be wicket keeping. Bowlers will only bowl to batsman who are maximum 2 years younger. Each match will be no longer than one hour with TCC special rules! Think Gubby Allen meets Last Man Standing (it could be chaos but it will be fun).
There will also be an ‘exhibition’ match for the u10s and u11s – again all are welcome to join in all the other activities.
Activities
We will be holding several activities on the day to include
1. Bottle tombola (1 for kids, 1 for adults) – 50p entry for kids £2 per adult
2. Catching challenge – 50p per child, £1 per adult PRIZES for the winners
3. BBQ – FREE TO ALL COLTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Kit Exchange
We probably all have some cricket equipment/kit lying around that no longer fits - we shall be running a kit exchange on the day.
Bring your unwanted kit and see what others have brought down; if something takes your fancy, offer a donation and take it home. All we ask is that any clothes are clean and that the equipment is usable - nothing broken please! If there is any kit left over at the end of the day, we shall be arranging for a donation to be made to Lord’s Taverner’s who have a kit recycling programme.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
In order to offer a free BBQ and make the most of the day, we will be charging small amounts for the activities. We also require donations towards both BBQ, kit exchange and tombola.
• Please bring two bottles – one suitable for Colts tombola and one for adults. Details of drop off times/locations tbc.
• Salads required – your team coach will liaise with you on this one.
• Please bring any old, useable kit and equipment for the kit exchange
We are really looking forward to seeing you and having a great day. Not only do we hope for some fun matches, the bar will be open and the World Cup Final will be shown at the clubhouse.
